
Upon graduating from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois with a triple Major in History, Philosophy and Political Science, I continued my academic pursuits at the Howard University School of Law in Washington D.C., where I was a member of the Charles Hamilton Houston National Moot Court Team and served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Evelyn Crawford Queen in the Criminal Division of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
After obtaining the degree of Juris Doctorate, the appointment of Assistant State’s Attorney for Madison County, Illinois was conferred by State’s Attorney William R. Haine and continued by successive appointments to serve under William A. Mudge and Thomas D. Gibbons.
Additional experience includes Instructing on a part-time basis at the Southwestern Illinois College Law Enforcement Training Program (2000-2012) and for the Southwestern Illinois Law Enforcement Commission.
On an appointed basis by the Madison County, Illinois Circuit Court, I also represent clients whose cases present a conflict of interest for the Madison County, Illinois Public Defender’s Office.
